UNDERSTANDING THE EVALUTION

"LISTENING"….. LET THE TISSUES TELL US WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING, BECAUSE ULTIMATELY….. ONLY THE TISSUES TRULY KNOW…..EVEN DOWN TO THE SMALLEST OF DETAILS!

EVALUATION EXPLAINED

This distinctive evaluative approach is a crucial part of the therapeutic process. Without it, the treatments are more or less just a guessing game. Based on many years of clinical experience, this in-depth evaluative process is an extremely important tool to form an accurate assessment of each client, in order to determine the most effective individualized treatment plan that will achieve the best possible results. The evaluation will identify the primary source of dysfunction at any given time, and will also provide other factors and correlational patterns to help us understand the symptomatology. Thus, the root of the problem can be addressed, rather than just "treating the symptoms". In many instances, the specific area of complaint is not where the primary source of the problem lies. Also bear in mind that certain disorders that the body reveals through this evaluation process could be things that may not necessarily show up in conventional medical testing. The evaluation can include some or all of the following: Subjective Findings Client Information/Medical History Intake Objective Findings (Manual Assessments) Postural/Structural Analysis Biomechanical (Movement) Analysis "Listening" (The Most Important Aspect) -using the hands to precisely palpate and examine affected body regions in order to gather pertinent information about the health and functionality of the tissues Discussion Explaining the outcome of the evaluation, recommending an appropriate treatment plan, and answering any questions that may arise *Keep in mind that this is an evaluation and a recommended course of treatment that falls within the scope of my particular practice as a Licensed Bodywork Professional. Also, always remember that I never diagnose or prescribe, and that my work should never be interpreted as such. Although my manual therapies can sometimes be an alternative to conventional medicine, they should never take the place of necessary medical treatments that only a physician (MD or DO) can provide. However, in many situations, my manual therapies can certainly be complimentary to the conventional medical treatments a person may already be receiving, is about to receive, or has already received.
